My neighbor and I were on a walk the other day, when I noticed some garbage on the ground.
While she was chatting I paused for a moment to bend down and pick up the trash. I placed it in my pocket and we continued down the street.
My neighbor had become accustomed to me doing this during our strolls.
This time she giggled and said, “You know, you are one trashy lady!” I laughed out loud at her comment and agreed with her. And on we went.
Even when I was a young girl, I remember picking up garbage on my way home from school. My pockets were overflowing by the time I got to my house.
And ewww! Back then we didn’t carry gloves or sanitizer on us. I did wash my hands when I got home. Whew!
Protecting and saving our planet, has never been so important. Every shiny wrapper we pick up could save a bird, a squirrel, & even a turtle/fish if it’s floating in the ocean.
